What is Pilates

It is a form of fitness structured around the stomach, hips, lower back and buttocks.   The movements are instrumental in maintaining a healthy back and good alignment.  These are key elements in proper muscle use and make even the most difficult daily tasks seem effortless.

The breathing system is part of the exercise.  The emphasis is put on using  correct breathing and increasing breathing capacity.

Pilates always works through movement.

The technique tones and aligns the body.   It develops a longer and leaner muscular tone, balanced strength and flexibility.

Why Pilates

The goal is to improve mobility, endurance and strength.  It focuses on good posture, joint release and flexibility. It can be used as an exercise method, a rehabilitation technique, as well as an injury prevention practice.  Back aches and pains will very likely disappear altogether.

The participants will feel invigorated and released from daily stress.  The flow of the movements and the soothing music will bring a sense of peacefulness.

For a corporation, the advantages of offering Pilates courses to its employees are immense.  It has been proven that fit employees are more productive, are in a better mental state, have diminished absenteeism, and are less likely to get injured.

Setting up a program within your company

No showers are necessary. The only  equipment required are  Pilates Mats; meaning a very low investment.

Classes can be given during lunch hour or right after office hours, which will make it convenient rather than intrusive.

All instructors are bilingual and have current CPR.
